We need You!

We need Your Vote for ALPA.

A vote for André Soucy is a vote for The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA).

Let’s be crystal clear - A vote for André means you support switching to ALPA representation.

This election is turning into a mini-referendum. Supporting our Pilots for Change candidate who is pro-ALPA shows support for a move to ALPA.  It has become glaringly obvious to supporters of this movement that joining ALPA is the only way forward.  More ACPA will not fix ACPA.  A move to ALPA would provide our pilot group with the knowledge, training, power and solidarity that only a large professional pilot union can provide.  As of this morning, voter turnout for this NEM election was only 43%.  This vote closes in a couple days, on September 9th at 12:00 pm EDT..  We need to get the vote out!  We need to ensure the message sent after this election is loud and clear.  That message needs to be -  Our pilots, overwhelmingly, want to become ALPA members.

A common question we hear is what is the Pilots for Change plan?

Our five point plan is as follows:

  1. Win this election so André Soucy becomes a Nationally Elected Member (NEM) on the MEC.

  2. Win the LEC Vice Chair elections at the end of the month.  This will give us a true majority around the MEC table and allow us to implement the next few steps;

  3. Send out a survey to the membership about ALPA to gauge interest of the entire pilot group.

  4. Run informational roadshows detailing what ALPA representation means for our pilots.

  5. Hold a member wide vote on ALPA membership.  Yes or No.

If you need any further convincing that ALPA is the only way forward click on the links below for visual representations of how ACPA performance has been detrimental to our wages over the last few decades.

The slides may look somewhat familiar to what was sent out last year but they have been updated to account for inflation, how our wages compare to ourselves and to our executives and how our wages compare to the recent United ALPA Tentative Agreement (TA).  Interesting to note, is the United ALPA TA has not been ratified.  United pilots weren’t satisfied with what was presented and accordingly are hitting the negotiations table again.  There is a pilot group who truly realizes their value!

Also worth watching are the YouTube presentations we created last year.  Please pass them along to your fellow colleagues - knowledge is power and our pilot group needs to fully understand how undervalued we currently are.

Lastly, we need more subscribers to this newsletter.  We currently have just under 700 subscribers.  We are asking each and every one of you to convince at least one additional ACPA pilot to subscribe.

Thank you for your time and for your support.  We do not take your attention for granted.  We also know this has been a very frustrating time and understand why people are losing faith that we can actually change our association.  But know this - Pilots for Change is here to stay until we have a union we can all be proud of.  Your support and belief in our movement is fundamental to our success.

This is Your union and Your voice does matter.
