New Year = New Opportunity
As we enter the new year Pilots for Change is acutely aware of the numerous challenges that our industry faces. It is within those very challenges that we see opportunity. That is why we are looking forward to the Nationally Elected MEC Member election that will be taking place at the end of the month. Our core organizers and supporters have spent much time in deliberation considering what went wrong with the last election cycle and what went right. We are motivated to enact change now more than ever and excited for this opportunity to run a like minded candidate whom we can wholeheartedly support. A candidate who fully embodies the ideals of Pilots for Change. Stay engaged as we iron out the details of this election campaign. This is an opportunity to continue spreading the message about Pilots for Change and to let our pilot group know that unequivocally, our association can be performing at a higher level.
The path ahead of us this year may be tumultuous as the aviation industry attempts to rebuild. It is for this reason that we need strong MEC leadership in place. We require an MEC who is capable of shifting between the inevitable short term crisis moments while constantly and consistently balancing the long term effects this crisis will have on our pilot profession as a whole. 2021 is the year we must come together as professional pilots in the face of corporate interests who will want to return to profitability at any cost. Now is the time for us to stand together, aligning with other airline pilot unions and labour groups who share our common purpose.
Pilots for Change knows the way forward will be difficult. The candidate we will be endorsing will be someone who is ready to take on these challenges, with the drive and the determination to make our profession better.

The success of the furlough support fund really blew us away! We came very close to doubling our fundraising goal. A heartfelt thank you to every single Air Canada pilot who contributed to this fund. It is incredibly important that we support our furloughed colleagues in any way possible and those of you who donated made this a reality. To date we have assisted 89 furloughed pilots each with a $250 grant. Currently the fund has just under $4000 remaining so if you are aware of any furloughed pilots please make sure they reach out and access this assistance if required. You can even apply on behalf of a friend!
