Thank You!
Thank you for placing your trust in Pilots for Change and casting your vote for change. We are ecstatic with the results of the Nationally Elected MEC Member and Vancouver Councillor elections!
Congratulations to Cam Soderberg for his re-election as NEM, to our newly elected NEMs; Jon Gabbert and Jesse Jantzi and YVR Councillors; Regan Bosch, Tim Everets, Jason Hartleb, Ryan Mouck and Julian White! We endorsed you for a reason and you clearly delivered as our pilot group has spoken loud and clear. We want change and you are the change that we are looking for. We are excited for the future that this clear mandate from the membership has brought us. The biggest takeaway for us at Pilots for Change is that, engagement works! We have engaged our pilot group through our website, surveys, newsletters, social media and listened to what you want. This is your union and your voice does matter. That is our mantra and we strive to not stray from that fundamental driving force. That driving force is you, the membership! We feel just like you, that it is time for us to have the Union that we all deserve. Engagement does not stop at the election level - we want to and we need to hear from all of our pilots - even if you didn’t vote for our type of change. As always, we welcome all types of feedback via our website. We need to hear from you so that we can govern effectively for our entire pilot group.
Thank you to all of the candidates who chose to run during this election season. Congratulations to those who were successful in the YWG and YUL councillor elections! It is incredibly difficult to put your name forward during an election and anyone who does so deserves much respect and gratitude. A healthy democratic union is driven by passionate debate and people like yourselves who are willing to stand for election. Thank you for participating in our democratic union process.
The work is really just beginning at Pilots for Change! Our mandate is growing pilot by pilot so please pass the message on and make sure your fellow pilots are engaged and signed up to our newsletter. Our YouTube channel is still active which is an excellent place to point your fellow colleagues towards so they can learn about the history of our wages over the last few decades. Lastly, just take a few moments to review our six core elements of change. We fully believe this is the path we must follow for raising the bar for our profession.
Thank you for staying engaged in our Profession. Thank you for voting for Change!
