Onward and Upward

These are exciting times for our membership as we move onward and upward after a historic moment of engagement during the MOA vote.  The message is loud and clear: expectations are high and the time is now for our pilot group to continue organizing and moving towards achieving a true industry leading contract.

Acclamations

As we continue down this journey together, we have seen considerable changes in our elected representatives through a number of acclamations.  We congratulate the new YUL LEC Chair and Vice Chair. They both demonstrated leadership and engagement in seeking and accepting this responsibility.  We look forward to seeing these new representatives work tirelessly to advocate for our membership at the MEC level.

Base Elections

In addition to the above mentioned acclamations,, there will be the following elections, which will run from November 7th until November 17th:

YVR LEC:

  • Base Chair 

  • Councilor

YYZ LEC:

  • Councilor

YUL LEC:

  • Councillors (5)

We commend all candidates who put their names forward.  There is no higher level of engagement than running for office.  We encourage all members to take the time to read all candidate literature and engage them with questions and discussion.  Democracy is a fundamental pillar of our association and it is our responsibility as a group to engage in this process and hold our representatives to account.

Pilots for Change (P4C) Candidates

We are excited to have a full slate of candidates being endorsed by Pilots for Change (P4C) in YVR and YYZ.  We feel these candidates possess the “Core Elements” and values of effective union representatives, and if elected, we feel they will do an outstanding job serving the membership.  

This pilot group has taken incredible strides forward in the past year and we have complete confidence that the candidates below will continue to lead us in the right direction.  An aligned body of representatives combined with a strong mandate from the membership will make this pilot group a formidable force in achieving the ultimate goal: a true industry leading contract.
