It’s Election Season!

It’s the time we have all been waiting for, so let's talk about our stellar slate for the Nationally Elected Member (NEM) positions on our MEC!

First up is Jon Gabbert for NEM!  Anyone who has listened to Jon passionately speak about what it truly means to be a member of a Union has quickly realized what a force for change he is.  Jon embodies the ideals of unionism through his every action and phrase.  For the last 3 years he has served tirelessly as a YYZ Local Elected Councillor and as a member of the governance committee.  His knowledge of the inner workings of ACPA have only served to make him an even fiercer advocate for every single line pilot within our association. Jon knows what is right and what is wrong.  His tenacity and resilience is very admirable.  There is no doubt in our mind that Jon is the right person at the right time to be a member of our MEC.

A vote for Jon is a vote for Unionism.

Next up is Jesse Jantzi for NEM!  Jesse may be the junior member running on our slate but do not mistake juniority for a lack of experience.  Jesse also has a very clear sense of right and wrong and is a very strong unionist.  He has experience as a labour leader from his days working for our CPA carrier.  He consistently displays true professionalism and maturity while using his calm demeanour to make insightful arguments for what is in the best interest of our entire pilot group.  He has been dutifully serving as a councillor for the YYZ Local Elected Council and is acutely aware of the inner workings of ACPA.  He will be able to hit the ground running as a NEM.  Jesse has our full support and we know he will be an incredibly strong asset on our MEC.

A vote for Jesse is a vote for the future of our Profession.

Lastly, we support Cameron Soderberg for NEM!  He currently is a serving member of the MEC and is finishing his first term as a NEM. Cam’s extensive ACPA and ALPA experience includes serving as Chair of the Jumpseat Committee, External Affairs Committee, member of the OHS Committee, LEC Councillor and MEC member. Cam is highly energized and motivated to be the change that we seek within our Union. Cam’s thoughtful, deliberate and persistent demeanour on the current MEC has earned him a reputation as a strong advocate for our pilots.  He knows there is a better way of doing things and consistently pushes for our MEC to take the better path going forward by adhering to union fundamentals.  Help us turn Cam’s one term as NEM into two terms!

A vote for Cam is a vote for Experience.

We also have a strong roster of candidates for Councillor positions in our YVR and YYZ bases so be sure to check out our website for more information about them.

Remember to vote for all Pilots for Change candidates across all of the elections!  A vote for Change means you are not satisfied with the status quo and are demanding more from your association.  Online voting opens on the ACPA website on October 4th.  Tell all your fellow colleagues and help us get the vote out!
